Tutoring FAQs

  • What does the price of tutoring cover?
    • ALL pricing includes preparation on the part of the tutor, communication and updating of the student’s Trello page (this is a private student page updated with what is done in each tutoring session, as well as a place for the tutor to post extra resources parents and students can use if enrolled in intensive tutoring), and the actual one hour one on one session.
  • What kind of payment do you accept?
    • We accept cash, credit, or check (made out to “Avery Learning Lab”). All payments must be received prior to the session by the main office. You will not pay the tutor directly.
    • Credit is done through Paypal and there is a small fee for processing.


  • Why do you have contracts for some of your tutoring?
    • The contract serves to reinforce the importance of consistency with tutoring. If your student is getting weekly tutoring sessions, they are in need of consistent help in order to grow and succeed.
    • Cancellations and rescheduling can be difficult for both the tutor and the client. These options should only be used in the case of emergencies.
